Time is marked by the movement of the Sun and the Two Sisters, twin moons that dominate the nighttime sky.

Turn – one full revolution around the sun. Made up of 12 pairings, except once an Age, when there comes a thirteenth pairing.

Tenday – ten days’ time (similar to a week) There are three tendays to a pairing.

Pairing – three tendays, marked by the overlap or partial eclipse of the Two Sisters. Twelve pairings to a full turn.

Age – 100 turns.

Thirteenth Pairing – a pairing at the end of each 100-year period, in which the sun and both moons are aligned perfectly in a total eclipse.
